Sister's to Billie ~ Joy Ruth and JeanDeborah sent an email today and eloquently tells of her mothers passing:
Billie June Lahoma Maness Hixson went to be with her Lord and Savior on this day March 27, 2009 8:10 a.m. after a long illness.
Those of us who attended the Elsie Family Reunion in June 2008 were able to visit with Aunt Billie and Uncle Claude that weekend. What a joy it was to see them and how healthy they both looked. I remember Aunt Billies face was so clear and very few wrinkles in her face and her skin was just so lovely for someone in their 80s.
Please remember Uncle Claude, Doug and Deborah in your prayers. Doug has to come in from Idaho and the weather is causing a bit of trouble in Oklahoma today.
The services were held in Edmond on Tues., March 31, 2009 at a funeral home near their home. My Mom, Joy Ruth, lead the music of several hymns with a message about the songs between each hymn. Uncle Claude said it was a simple, personal service and he was very pleased with the services sending Aunt Billie home.
She was buried in a white suit that was tailor made by herself as she was quite a seamstress. Also, they put on her favorite tennis shoes, black and white polka dots....great idea and something to remember how Aunt Billie went to Heaven in her favorite tennis shoes.
